Meet the Artist
Cortisol is the work of Quebec-based artisan Lysa Wierzbicki—an exploration of control, contrast, and calm in a world that rarely slows down.
Lysa has been making jewelry for over 25 years, first as a craft, then as a profession, and now as a form of grounding. After stepping away, she returned to beadwork as a way to manage stress and anxiety—drawn back to the precision and repetition of off-loom weaving. One bead at a time, the noise quiets.
A self-proclaimed news junkie, she is constantly absorbing the urgency of the outside world. Her work is the counterpoint: structured, intentional, and meticulously composed. Each piece transforms tension into something tactile—something you can wear.
She is also a mother of two and lives in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, where she balances family life with her creative practice.
Lysa previously worked and taught jewelry making at The Bead Box in Pointe-Claire Village, where she developed both her technical foundation and her voice as an artist. Today, every piece is still handcrafted using Japanese seed beads, crystals, and carefully chosen materials such as stainless steel and walnut wood.
You can often find her at local markets and pop-ups, where she loves connecting with people and sharing the story behind each piece.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Each one carries the imprint of process—of time, focus, and the quiet discipline of making.
Cortisol isn’t just jewelry. It’s a practice in holding it together beautifully.
